Job Description

Under the authority of the Information Technology Director, the computer and network technician ensures the security and quality of the systems. He/she is responsible for the computer support of the company’s various sites. He/she is the resource person for internal personnel and external stakeholders. He/she proposes innovative solutions to current and future challenges. He/she collaborates with the team of technicians to ensure the functioning of the networks and all computer equipment.
More specifically, he/she must:

  • Manage infrastructure deployment and optimization projects;
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to users;
  • Configure workstations, printers and mobile devices;
  • Administer the computer network (multi-site) and servers (Windows);
  • Perform maintenance, configuration and deployment of applications;
  • Manage appropriate access to various applications according to authorizations;
  • Apply procedures to maintain an optimal level of security (firewall, anti-virus, etc.);
  • Manage user and email accounts;
  • Manage the telephony system (IP);
  • Ensure quality control according to requirements and contracts;
  • Determine and document IT procedures;
  • Implement backup procedures and ensure their effectiveness;
  • Ensure compliance with OHS policies during interventions on the sites;
  • Conduct research to apply best practices;
  • Evaluate risks related to the physical and technical security of data, software and hardware;
  • Participate in policy development;
  • Advise on information systems strategies, policies, management, security and service delivery;
  • Collaborate with the Programmer Analyst on IT developments as needed;

Required profile

  • College degree in computer science or networking;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, particularly in infrastructure deployment projects;
  • Experience in an automated industrial environment, preferred;
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts (IoT, telemetry, Pi System), an asset;
  • Mastery of Windows Server operating system, Windows Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 365, Office 365 technologies, networks and computer security, telephony systems with IP technology;
  • Rigor, autonomy and reactivity;

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and pedagogy;

  • Versatility;
  • Bilingualism in French and English;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment, an asset;
  • Class 5 driver’s license;
  • Ability to work and travel regularly between sites for a few days.
