The new Nemaska Lithium will officially take root in Bécancour with the opening of an office on Port-Royal Boulevard, a few kilometres from the site of its future conversion plant, which will be built in the Bécancour Waterfront and Industrial Park. This location will house the human resources and procurement teams and will also provide a hub for the team building the conversion plant in Bécancour.
It should be noted that the project to build a high-purity lithium hydroxide processing plant has just begun the more detailed engineering phase. Construction of the plant is scheduled to begin in 2023. It will be the first lithium hydroxide processing plant in Canada.
Once in operation, the plant will create nearly 200 quality jobs in Bécancour.
