Nemaska Lithium held an open house on April 5, 2023, to discuss its integrated lithium hydroxide production project with the citizens of Bécancour and, more specifically, its future plant in the Bécancour industrial and port park. The entire community of Bécancour and the surrounding area was invited to the Auberge Godefroy for the occasion.
Nearly 160 people attended the open house. It was an opportunity for Nemaska Lithium team members to meet with citizens and other local people interested in the project. As listening to and respecting stakeholders is at the heart of the organization’s DNA, this day was part of the rigorous voluntary consultation process undertaken last year.
During the day, information booths were available for participants to learn more about topics such as the environmental and social assessment, relations with First Nations, the local purchasing policy and career opportunities.
