Today, Nemaska Lithium is launching its online participatory platform aimed at giving the opportunity to residents to express their points of view and ideas on the project to build a plant in the Bécancour Waterfront and Industrial Park. With this new tool, users will also be able to stay informed about the project’s progress and find out more about the social integration process.
Through this voluntary public consultation process, Nemaska Lithium wishes to gather reactions and suggestions from the community and invites the public to register for the various consultation activities, which will be held from June 15 to December 1, 2022.
It should be underlined that Nemaska Lithium is conducting an environmental and social assessment on a voluntary basis in order to develop its project in compliance with the highest sustainable development standards. More specifically, the company’s initiative aims to assess the potential impacts of its activities and to develop mitigation and improvement measures in collaboration with the host community. In the fall of 2021, Nemaska Lithium launched the first phase of its social integration process with the holding of several meetings to present its plant project to community stakeholders.
