Job Description
The mobile equipment mechanic performs various repair, modification, installation, fabrication and preventive/preventive maintenance tasks on excavators, trucks, bulldozers, cranes, graders and other equipment. In a safe, professional and efficient manner, according to the planning and scheduling in place.
Main responsibilities
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, fittings or components, using hand or power tools;
- Test the repaired equipment to ensure that it works properly and that the repairs comply with requirements;
- Perform other routine maintenance;
- Work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures;
- Apply and comply with lockout procedures ;
- Help diagnose potential problems;
- Work with operators to identify the nature of the problem;
- Seek technical assistance and advice from department staff as needed;
- Perform work according to work order requirements and in an efficient manner;
- Identify work performed using work orders (scope, time required, materials, methods).
Required profile
Key competencies sought
- DEP in construction equipment mechanics or other related training;
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment mechanics;
- Analytical thinking ;
- Driver’s license 5 ;
- Ability to work 12-hour 14/14 FIFO shifts;
- Knowledge of computer-aided maintenance management software (CMMS) is an asset;
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical mechanics;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment is an asset.
