Since 2009, the Cree community have been actively involved in various aspects of the project through the activities that were undertaken to inform stakeholders about the project and take stock of their concerns relative to the project and its potential environmental and social impacts.

In 2014, Nemaska Lithium entered into a unique agreement with the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee), the Cree Nation Government and the Cree Nation of Nemaska that established the framework for its relations with the community, in connection with the mine’s development and operations, for the entire life of the Whabouchi project and beyond.

The Chinuchi Agreement is available here.
