Job Description

Under the supervision of the Chief Procurement Officer, the candidate will be responsible for supporting the procurement activities of ongoing operations, participating in the Company’s operational readiness program and supporting major procurement and spare parts contracts.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Participate in the procurement strategy for major product and service contracts and spare parts;
  • Lead the development and implementation of a focused, comprehensive supply category management strategy and development of supply arrangements to minimize total cost of ownership and maximize value that generates competitive advantage and meets Nemaska Lithium’s governance requirements;
  • Implement business strategies and procurement plans. This will include key or complex procurement projects and negotiations, and the ongoing management of contracts and supplier relationships;
  • Consolidate internal customer demand and consumer trends that will inform category strategy development and related sourcing programs;
  • Design a rigorous, fact-based analysis to capture external market dynamics that will serve as the foundation for the category strategy and procurement program, particularly through in-depth market analysis;
  • Be responsible for developing negotiation plans with vendors for approval, and support and lead negotiations;
  • Lead the bidding process up to the awarding and negotiation of contracts in relation to the procurement strategies;
  • Lead productivity projects in conjunction with key suppliers and stakeholders;
  • Ensure that all projects meet the requirements set forth in the company’s policies, standards and guidelines;
  • Assist in reviewing and documenting policies and processes;
  • Contribute to the program to purchase local products and services;
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and special reports as requested by internal stakeholders;
  • Performs any other related duties that may be assigned.

Required profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in operations or manufacturing support
  • Bilingualism in French and English, oral and written
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power point, SharePoint and Word)
  • Must be able to work at various Nemaska Lithium sites – A valid driver’s license is a requirement
