Job Description

Reporting to the VP Sustainable Development, and in the context of the start-up and production launch of a major integrated lithium salt production project, the By-product Development Manager is responsible for developing projects to develop the by-products of spodumene concentrate production and lithium hydroxide production, with a view to reducing the project’s environmental impact and contributing to the development of a circular economy in Quebec.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners for the valorization of by-products;
  • Develop value-added scenarios in collaboration with various industries in Quebec;
  • Integrate sustainable recycling solutions for all production by-products in collaboration with Nemaska Lithium process engineers and stakeholders;
  • Contribute to developing a synergy of sustainable development in the Nemaska Lithium community and its partners;
  • Manage and respect the budget and schedule of recovery projects in order to deliver recycling solutions on time;

Under the authority of the VP Sustainable Development, in the context of the start-up and production of a major integrated lithium salt production project, the By-product Development Manager is responsible for developing projects for the development of by-products from the production of spodumene concentrate and lithium hydroxide, with a view to reducing the environmental impact of the project and contributing to the development of a circular economy in Quebec.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners for the valorization of by-products;
  • Develop recovery scenarios in collaboration with various industries in Quebec;
  • Integrate sustainable recycling solutions for all production by-products in collaboration with Nemaska Lithium process engineers and stakeholders;
  • Contribute to the development of a sustainable development synergy within the Nemaska Lithium community and its partners;
  • Manage and respect the budget and schedule of beneficiation projects in order to deliver the recycling solutions within the expected timeframe;

Required profile

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or civil process engineering (specializing in concrete)
  • A master’s degree or diploma in sustainable development would be an asset
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Expertise in circular economy and/or sustainable development an asset
  • Experience in industrial operations desirable
  • Ability to develop business relationships
  • Autonomy developed and demonstrated

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Demonstrate rigorous health and safety enforcement while being an active ambassador to promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace;
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted in an environmentally and ethically responsible manner, ensuring that company policies and practices are aligned with these values;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or civil process engineering (concrete specialty).
  • Master’s degree or diploma in sustainable development would be an asset
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Expertise in circular economy and/or sustainable development an asset
  • Experience in industrial operations preferred
  • Ability to develop business relationships
  • Developed and demonstrated autonomy
